Florida real estate, from the contract through the closing and whatever follows.
I represent the people on the ownership side of real estate. Buyers, sellers, developers, landlords, and the entities they hold property through.
Roughly four in ten of my matters touch real estate, and most of them are commercial or investment property rather than a family home. The useful thing about doing this alongside a corporate practice is that property is almost never held personally. There is an entity, and often a partner, and the questions about who owns what and who decides matter as much as the contract does.
What I handle
- Acquisition and disposition of commercial and investment property
- Development and redevelopment, including entity structuring for a project
- Purchase and sale contracts, and contract review before you sign
- Commercial leasing, for landlords and for tenants
- Condominium and homeowners association matters, including governing documents
- Bulk condominium acquisition and statutory termination
- Landlord and tenant matters, including evictions
- Transfers of title into an entity, and related structuring
- Closings, and coordination with lenders and title
- Opportunity Zone real estate structures
A note on title
I also own title and escrow companies in Florida and Colorado. They are separate businesses from the law firm. If a matter would put me on both sides of that line, I will tell you before we start, not after.
Who this is for
Developers and sponsors. Investors buying through an entity. Landlords with commercial tenants. Owners in a condominium or association dispute. Foreign buyers who need Florida counsel.
